Access to Tickets on the Primary Market

Misuse of bots

The misuse of computer software to purchase more tickets than the limit set by the organiser, called botnets (bots for short) provides an unfair advantage in securing tickets over the average fan. StubHub has consistently supported, and will continue to support, legislation prohibiting the misuse of bots.

Recently, the UK Government passed legislation allowing them to outlaw the misuse of bots. This was part of the Digital Economy Act, which is still due to be implemented into law. We will continue to work closely with the UK Government to ensure that fans are given a fair chance to access tickets. StubHub also calls on ticket issuers to invest in more technology to combat the misuse of bots, and to report any attacks to law enforcement.
