On day two of the Utah State Legislature’s 2019 session, the Senate Business and Labor Committee unanimously passed The Tickets Sales Act S.B.69.
Another way in which rights holders limit your right to transfer, resell or give your tickets away is by putting your name on the ticket and requiring ID at the door of the venue. This creates problems for consumers because you are unable to give the tickets as a present to a friend or family member. It also means that you must enter the venue at the same time as everyone on your booking, which causes consumer frustration if a friend is running late or if someone in the group wants to see the support act, but someone else does not. Not only does it provide little to no flexibility to fans, it also creates large queues at the venue, which is not a good customer experience.
