Giving the gift of music in Birmingham

At StubHub, we believe in giving back and  bringing the joy of live to fans around the  world. This is why we decided to partner with the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation who aim to keep music alive in schools by donating musical instruments to under-funded music programs.

Last year, StubHub made a three year commitment to put $3 million worth of instruments into schools across the U.S. Our first major donation of 2019 was worth $41,000 and was given to Oxmoor Valley Elementary School in Birmingham, Alabama.

At a school-wide assembly, StubHub revealed the instruments and completely surprised the students. According to the band teacher, Takisha Frazier, the donation was a huge boost for their band program. Prior to the donation, many of the band students had to share instruments, so this donation was much-needed.

We were also delighted have to local State Senator Rodger Smitherman join us to celebrate with the students!

Check out the video to see the students’ reactions.
