New York Ticket Legislation Update

Over the past several months, StubHub has been participating in ongoing discussions with the New York State General Assembly, Governor’s Office, and Attorney General’s Office about the existing ticket legislation and proposed reforms. In both public and private sessions with key policy makers, StubHub has expressed our continued support for public policies that ensure a transparent and competitive ticket market. The New York ticket statute expires annually and must be renewed by the General Assembly each year. It has consistently been renewed and will sometimes containe amendments, such as enhancing the BOTS provision to include increased penalties. StubHub believes a substantive legislative package that is comprehensive of issues impacting consumers in the primary and secondary ticket market should result in an extended renewal of the statute. We will continue to work with all parties involved and expect the legislative process to unfold in the first half of 2018.
