StubHub Supports Sports & Technology in the Chicago Community
StubHub’s Chicago team joined Rachel Williams, the head of Diversity and Inclusion, to volunteer at a SPORTSTEQ event held on Saturday, June 30th. Current BIG3 players are partnering with former NBA stars and the Rainbow Push Coalition to bring SPORTSTEQ events to cities around the country. These events are designed to expose young people to the power of sports and technology. StubHub was a proud sponsor of last month’s event, featuring Chicago’s own Quentin Richardson.
The StubHub team was treated to a tour of the facility where Rainbow Push provides STEM classes for local children and were able to take part in tech demonstrations from the volunteer teachers and kids.
"It was amazing to see what exposing children to tech can teach them and watching how they apply that knowledge to fun projects that they are so proud to showcase,” said Jeff Doden, StubHub’s National Field Operations Manager. One young man named Sean, age 9, was eager to show off a robotic 4-wheel car he was working on. He said, “it was the hardest code I’ve ever done."
The children were also super excited to take home StubHub bandanas and sunglasses! StubHub is a proud corporate partner of the communities we work in and looks forward to opening a new facility near Grant Park in August.
